The Winnipeg Jets have dealt with their far share of injuries to start this National Hockey League season and from the looks of it, one of their top forwards is going to be out for a long time.

According to Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun, forward Nikolaj Ehlers will be out for a significant amount of time and is in need of Sports Hernia surgery.
Nikolaj Ehlers will have sports hernia surgery next week. No timeline for return. #NHLJets
Ehlers, 26, played October 17th when Winnipeg took on the Dallas Stars on what was their second game of the year. In those 2 games he picked up 3 assists.
Obviously, this is a huge loss for the Jets, however, head Coach Rick Bowness did say he expects Ehlers to be back at some point this season.
There won't be a timetable for his return until after the surgery that is to take place some time next week.
Hopefully the Jets find a way through the injury bug that has enveloped their team.
