Selanne played 4 years for the Jets before eventually being traded to the Anaheim Ducks where he went on to play the majority of his career. Today the Winnipeg Jets made an announcement that will finally honour Selanne for his contributions to the franchise.
The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club will induct Teemu Selanne and Teppo Numminen as the ninth and tenth members of the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame in November. The two Finnish stars from the Jets 1.0 era will have their banners raised to the rafters of Canada Life Centre at a Hall of Fame induction ceremony prior to the Jets' Thursday, Nov. 17 matchup against the Anaheim Ducks.
Along with Selanne, Teppo Numminen will also have his number honoured by the franchise. This is a long overdue honor for both Selanne and Numminen.
