McLellan recently coached the Los Angeles Kings before being fired last season. He was also rumoured to have interviewed for the head coaching job for the Toronto Maple Leafs before the job was given to Craig Berube.
McLellan has been a head coach with three different teams since 2008 first starting with the San Jose Sharks, then moving onto the Edmonton Oilers and most recently with the aforementioned Kings. He brings a wealth of experience, and could surely help out a young team like the Blue Jackets.
We'll see how he does next season and beyond, but if nothing else, you can't say the National Hockey League has been quiet today.
If this is any indication on how the off-season is going to go, it were going to be busy for everybody working in and around the NHL
