St Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington took plenty of criticism for his play in the Four Nations, but on Thursday he was a hero, something that his teammates certainly recognize.

Team Canada bounced back after a loss to the USA in the round robin portion of the Four Nations with a massive win, and after the game, Brad Marchand called out the Tkachuk's with a massive statement.
However, he wasn't just focused on the opponents he had defeated, as he had plenty of praise for goaltender Jordan Binnington, who made some heroic saves late in the game to guide Canada to the 3-2 victory.
«He is the sole reason we won this game tonight.»
Coming into the tournament and even during the round robin phase, Binnington was under intense scrutiny from all areas of the media, but he came through when it mattered most, just like he did during the Blues Stanley Cup win back in 2019.
It wasn't just Marchand to shout him out however, as OT hero Connor McDavid made it clear what he and the rest of the team thought of the critics surrounding him throughout the tournament.
«He made probably three or four all-world saves early in overtime All credit to him. Hopefully some of those haters will back off because, honestly, he played great.»
He wasn't perfect throughout the tournament, but when it mattered most he stepped up, including this stunning save on an Auston Matthews shot in overtime that kept Team Canada alive in the tournament.
Ahead of the 2026 Olympics, there will be plenty of speculation and criticism for Binnington again, and while the team will likely need to bring the likes of Logan Thompson as a backup, at this point in time, Binnington has solidified his place as their starter.
