Hockey Hall of Fame Announces New President and CEO After Five-Month Search
The Hockey Hall of Fame made a big announcement today, revealing that Jamie Dinsmore will replace Jeff Denomme as President and CEO in July.
Being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame is the ultimate accomplishment any NHL player can ever dream of earning.
Of course, winning the Stanley Cup is what most players dream about, but joining the ranks of the Hall of Fame is certainly the greatest honor one can achieve in the sport.
The 2024 class included several superstars from recent years including
Shea Weber, Pavel Datsyuk, and and Jeremy Roenick, among others.
Today, the HHoF made a big announcement regarding the future of the organization.
Chairman Lanny McDonald, a Hall of Fame player himself, announced that they have found a new President and CEO after a five-month long search.
McDonald revealed that Jamie Dinsmore will be replacing Jeff Denomme, who has been in the position for nearly 30 years. Dinsmore will take over this July.
While the Hockey Hall of Fame focuses on the accomplishments of the greatest players of all time, it is also a museum dedicated to the history of the sport.
It serves to recognize greatness not just from players, but from coaches, general managers, and more.
Gaudreau had a realistic chance of one day being inducted into the Hall of Fame himself as he put up 743 career points in 763 games.
Had he finished out his contract with the Blue Jackets he very well could have hit the 1000 point mark and who knows what other accolades he could have added to his resume.
It is still possible that he could be inducted, but the selection committee would have to make a special exception for him.
Perhaps that is something Dinsmore will consider after he takes over as CEO.
