Insider provides update on Gleb Kuzmin after his was stretchered off the ice following horrific injury

A couple days after Gleb Kuzmin was Was stretchered off the ice following a horrific crash into the end boards an insider has provided an update on the 27 year old KHL player.

Kuzmin was flying down the wing when he was knocked off balance by defender Darren Dietz and sent into the boards extremely hard.

According to a report by Hockey World Wide on instagram, Kuzmin suffered a compression fracture of the thoracic vertebrae, which is about midway down your spine and near a persons kidneys. He is currently in intensive care, but will be transported to another hospital to have surgery when the time is right.

This was one of the awful collisions and you could see how much pain Kuzman was and he was uncontrollably writing in pain on the ice before being stretchered off.

This is a very serious injury, but it sounds like he's in good hands and will get the treatment he requires.

On the surface, coming back from an injury like the one Kuzmin suffered doesn't appear to be likely. At this point, health should come before hockey anyway.
