Insider reveals details of Tyler Bertuzzi's next contract
The Toronto Maple Leafs have started to have conversations with Tyler Bertuzzi in an attempt to sign him before free agency, figures have been revealed on what a new contract would look like.
Though last summer's free agent acquisition of Tyler Bertuzzi didn't exactly start as planned, he turned out to be a very valuable piece for the Maple Leafs down the stretch and through the first round of the playoffs. So much so, the Leafs have started talking to Bertuzzi on a possible contract extension.
Now, former NHLER turned insider Jordan Schmaltz has released a contract projection that he thinks would be guaranteed to keep Bertuzzi in Toronto for at least the next three seasons, honestly, it's a pretty fair deal if the rugged forward is willing to accept it.
3 x 4.75 AAV. 7 of the 14.75 in SB $$ over the three years should do the trick. #LeafsForever

Bertuzzi, 29, played in 80 games for the Leafs last season collecting a total of 43 points including 21 goals and 22 assists.
4.75M is a fair market value contract for what Bertuzzi provides on the ice, but I'll all come down to whether he believes he can get more on the open market and if he wants to stay in Toronto.
