Last night against the Vegas Golden Knights, Toronto Maple Leafs defender Morgan Rielly made his return from a 5-game suspension. After going through the entire appeal process, Rielly's suspension was upheld. Early in the first period Rielly made his impact felt by delivering a hit to a member of the Golden Knights.
As soon as Rielly delivered the hit, Bowen hilariously shared that Rielly was likely to face a suspension for the play, making light of his hit on Ridly Greig. Of course Leafs' fans absolutely loved this from Bowen, who previously was the on-air broadcaster, since switched to radio.
The Maple Leafs went onto win the game 7-3 and extended their winning streak to 6 games and moving them 12 points up on the last playoff position. Since Rielly's suspension the Leafs were able to come together as a team and suddenly seem like a true wagon, living up to the expectations that have been set for the team for years.
