The New York Rangers have officially claimed the talented young forward Arthur Kaliyev from the NHL waivers.

Yesterday, the Los Angeles Kings made the surprising decision to send Arthur Kaliyev on waivers after spending the first stretch of the season on the Injury Reserve with a broken clavicle.
He was limited to only five games this season with the Ontario Reign in the AHL and was seemingly looking to get a fresh start with another organization.
It looks like he'll get what he wanted after all, as the New York Rangers just claimed him from the waivers.
The insider Elliotte Friedman made the announcement with the following post on X:
Drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Kings in 2019, the 23-year-old forward scored 71 points, including 35 goals, in 188 NHL games.
At this point, joining the Rangers may not seem like a great opportunity, as the team is tied at the last spot in the Metropolitan Division with the New York Islanders at 37 points.
The Blueshirst will try to bounce back after making massive changes to their roster in the past few months.
They traded their captain Jacob Trouba and their longtime prospect Kaapo Kakko in late 2024, and results haven't been anywhere near the expectations so far.
On paper, this acquisition has a lot of potential for the Rangers. Adding a promising player who's been looking to prove his worth for a long time could lead to quick results.
With all the talent in that team, it's hard to believe the Rangers are performing as they did so far this season. While Kaliyev may not be the most talented player in New York, he could find some chemistry with his new teammate and bring some new air in the Rangers' locker room.
The Rangers will be back on the ice tomorrow against the Dallas Stars in what could be Kaliyev's debut with New York. Stay tuned for further details.
