After a hard fought game 7 the NHL officially handed out the Stanley Cup and names this year's Conn Smythe Trophy winner.
The Florida Panthers entered the third period with a 2-1 lead over the Edmonton Oilers. After leading the series 3-0 the Oilers clawed back to the the series, the Panthers were looking to avoid blowing another important lead. With both goalies on the top of their game it seemed that both teams were going to be hard to beat.
Midway through the third period a flurry of attempts by the Oilers was thwarted by Sergei Bobrovsky who found his game.
The Oilers made the decision to pull Stuart Skinner with just under 70 seconds left but were unable to tie the game and the Florida Panthers won this year's Stanley Cup.
After crowning this year's Stanley Cup Champion the league also named this year's Conn Smythe Trophy winner for the playoffs MVP. This year's recipient of the award is none other than Connor McDavid.
