Recently, there's been a lot of talk about the ‘code' in hockey, especially after the Morgan Rielly incident on Saturday, but something that went under the radar also on Saturday was Detroit Red Wings defender Jake Walman hitting the griddy when he scored to end the game against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday as well.

JAKE WALMAN OVERTIME PENALTY SHOT WINNING GRIDDY 🤯🚨

According to the 32 Thoughts Podcast, the celebration wasn't well received and some around the National Hockey League think there should be some sort of retaliation when the two teams face off again later this week, but it looks like the NHL has warned both teams about said retaliation; take a look.
I have no doubt there were people who said that they should have done something about that or next time they play they should do something about that.

Elliotte mentions both teams will probably be warned before the game this week since the Rielly incident happened.

Since the Rielly incident also happened on Friday as a result of Ridley Greig breaking the code as well, the expectation is both teams will be warned ahead of the game.
Whether or not retribution was actually planned for the rematch this week remains unclear, but Gary Bettman is making it clear he wants to dismantle ‘the code' any way possible.
