The Calgary Flames have been all over the trade market, whether it be actually making deals or the rumours of who's out on the back end. First it was Chris Tanev, but his injury troubles this season may have stalled that. Then of course there's Noah Hanifin, who's been cause for speculation most of the season.
Friedman also reports that the Flames gave Hanifin an extension offer that was 8 years and carried a cap hit of 7 million dollars per season, which he turned down, meaning his true intention never really was to re-sign with the Flames.
Hanfin, 27, has played in 55 games with the Flames this season collecting 9 goals and adding 21 assists for a total of 30 points.
His career high in points is only 48, is that worth more than 7M a season? I'm not so sure, but either he wants out of Calgary that badly, or he believes he's worth more money.
