Top NHL Insider Obliterates The NHL With Recent Comment About League Officiating

While the NHL have a fantastic product on the ice, they certainly have their issues, with the biggest one of all being the officiating, as it seems very rare for two fanbases to come away from a game with no legitimate gripes about the officials.

Often, it's just the NHL fans that are calling out the officials, but over the weekend that changed, as one of the NHL's top insiders in Frank Seravalli decided to call them and the league out in a huge way.

While Seravalli has faced plenty of criticism in his time as a reporter, it's hard to argue with him here, as the league have stood by their officials and claimed they do a good job, but simply put, they don't on a consistent basis, and something about that needs to change.

Whether that's the often suggested idea of having officials do a press conference after the game or simply disciplining them for making bad calls, the NHL has to do something, and with even their top insiders now putting the pressure on them, it's hard to ignore.

To simply do a search around social media would uncover countless comments about the officials, and while not all of them are legitimate, enough frustration comes with supporting a team and not getting the right calls, and that happens far too often.

Ultimately, it's unclear whether or not anything is being done to improve officiating in the NHL, but it's been a problem for some time, and if it doesn't get changed, the league is in danger of ruining what is a fantastic overall product.
