Two young defenders in Timothy Liljegren and Sean Durzi have signed deals with their respective clubs before the qualifying offer deadline.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Utah HC have just made a couple of moves both resigning young defenders in Sean Durzi and Timothy Liljegren

Sean Durzi signs a four-year extension with Utah HC carrying a $6M AAV.

Timothy Liljegren has signed a two-year deal with the Leafs. $3 million cap hit.

Durzi, 25, has signed a four year deal with Utah HC carrying an average annual value of 6 million per year putting the contract at $24 million

Liljegren, Also 25, Signed a two year extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs worth $6 million making the average annual value of the contract 3 million per season.

Liljegren is most Likely going to be used as a trade chip while Durzi Signed a deal with more term that was worth a whole lot more money and figures to be part of Utah's plans for years to come.

It's been a busy day around the national hockey league and I don't imagine that it gets any less busy over the coming days with free agency set to open tomorrow.
