Hours after rumor began to circulate that Vladimir Tarasenko was headed to the Pittsburgh Penguins. It appears that is not the case. After 3 days on the open market the veteran winger and two time Stanley Cup champion has officially come to an agreement with the Detroit Red Wings.
The Red Wings announced the contract on their official X account.
Tarasenko began last year with the Ottawa Senators before being traded to the Florida Panthers at the NHL trade deadline. The move paid off as Tarasenko was able to capture his second Stanley Cup.
In 76 games last season he scored 23 goals and added 32 assists. This is a significant pickup for the Red Wings is they look to add depth scoring as a try and break their playoff drought.
