In a wild scene, the New York Rangers team bus accidentally hit Macklin Celebrini's car after last night's game.
Even though it's too late to save the San Jose Sharks' season, the last stretch of the regular calendar will be crucial for the team. Young players often have a lot to learn in the final part of the season, when stakes are lower and coaches aren't as strict.
Last night, the San Jose Sharks were in action against the New York Rangers. The Sharks cam to the rink with nearly no pressure to win, while the Rangers had a lot to lose in the game.
Despite the pressure on their shoulders, the Rangers dealt a massive blow to the Sharks, winning 6 to 1 to take over the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
After the game, the team wasn't done hurting the Sharks. When the Rangers' bus left the arena, it apparently hit Macklin Celebrini's car.
Videos of what happened are still being released, but here's what's available as of now:
It was a tough night for the first overall pick at the 2024 NHL draft, who wanted to go home after a tough loss only to be forced to deal with his car being hit.
However, Celebrini has been having a great rookie season so far. Included in most of the discussions for the Calder Trophy, the 18-year-old player tallied 53 points, including 21 goals, in 60 games this season.
Last night, he couldn't score any point and had a -4 rating in nearly 20 minutes of ice time.
His team won't make the playoffs this season, and Celebrini should enjoy the time off, as he could very well be playing spring hockey for many years once his team becomes playoffs contenders.
