As the hockey world continues to mourn, a young hockey play has passed away at a weekend hockey tournament.
As the hockey world is reeling, another tragedy has struck as this past weekend, a young goaltender lost his life while playing in a hockey tournament.
Zachary Bourassa, who was 21, suffered a cardiac arrest during a hockey tournament this weekend in Quebec, despite medical personnel's best efforts, they were not able to save his life.
In a post last night, Bourassa's mother confirmed the news.
Last night, Zachary left us while practicing his favorite sport. He leaves a giant void around him, he was so young and had his whole life ahead of him. Please watch over us and your beautiful Elo. We love you Zach
During an interview, the family said that everything was tried in order to save the young goaltenders life, but nothing worked.
The tragedy happened during the early stages of a game and once again the Bourassa family reiterated that medical professionals did everything they could to save his life.
Our sincere condolences go out to the Bourassa family during this unimaginable time and we hope that you're able to find healing and peace, whenever that may be. Just an unthinkable event.
