The Vancouver Canucks find themselves as buyers this year. After a poor season last year, the Canucks had something spark in them and they are now sitting at 1st place in the league, tied with the Boston Bruins.
Elliotte Friedman just put out that talks between the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks are intensifying, with the man of the hour being Elias Lindholm.
There is word tonight talks between Vancouver and Calgary are intensifying around Elias Lindholm. We will see where it goes.
Elias Lindholm is 29 years old. This season, he has nine goals and 23 assists, tallying up to 32 points in 49 games on a struggling Flames team.
However, Vancouver is going to have to make things work on their side. We could likely see Andrei Kuzmenko, who carries a $5.5 million cap hit, be moved to Calgary to make this trade work.
But a new question arises as this news breaks: are the Canucks pitching in their five cents and avoiding the rebuild too early?
