Detroit Red Wings and Arizona Coyotes make a trade
The NHL's Trade Deadline was on March 3rd, while the AHL's Deadline is scheduled for March 10th. While any player traded after last Friday's deadline is ineligible to play in the NHL regular season or the playoffs, they are still eligible to play in the American Hockey League.
Today the Arizona Coyotes acquired 35-year-old Steven Kampfer from the Detroit Red Wings.
TRADE: The Coyotes have acquired D Steven Kampfer from the Detroit Red Wings for future considerations. Kampfer will report to Tucson (AHL).
Kampfer has played in 40 games this season for the Grand Rapids Griffins, he has scored 4 goals and added 18 assists during that time. Kampfer had hoped to find time with the Detroit Red Wings this year after returning from 1 season in the KHL, but he was unable to crack the Wings roster.
