Flyers reportedly turned down massive offer for Scott Laughton from Western Conference team
The Philadelphia Flyers have been the busiest team on the trade market this month so far and they're showing no signs of slowing down, with several players on their roster reportedly up for grabs.
One of those players,
Scott Laughton, is beginning to draw plenty of interest from teams around the National Hockey League, including the St. Louis Blues.
According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Philadelphia Flyers have reportedly turned down a first-round pick this year (either 25th or 29th overall), as well as a future second-round pick from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Scott Laughton.
While Laughton is an established centerman in the NHL and would be a great addition as to a team's second line, the Blues' offered was pretty significant and may have been viewed an overpayment by general manager Doug Armstrong if Danny Briere said yes.

On the other side of things, for the Flyers to turn down an offer like the one they received from St. Louis, they clearly value Laughton significantly more than a pair of high draft picks and feel they can get more in return for him.
The 29-year-old is on a team-friendly contract making $3 million per season for the next three years. Laughton is also coming off the best season of his career thus far, recording 43 points (18 goals, 25 assists) in 78 games.
With the amount of interest there is in Laughton, along with his strong 2022-23 campaign and his team-friendly contract, Danny Briere should have no issue trading the Oakville native in the coming weeks, if not sooner.
