The Washington Capitals are a far cry from the team that won the Stanley Cup in 2018 and have struggled so far this season. With that being said, they could be looking to add to their forward group.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Capitals are interested Vancouver Canucks forward Andrei Kuzmenko

The problem that Friedman mentions is that Washington is more than cap strapped at the moment and they lack the assets and cap space to make a move like this.

Kuzmenko, 29, has played in 29 games for the Canucks this season, tallying a total of 17 points which includes 6 goals and 11 assists. Having been a scratch recently a fresh start could be good, but the Capitals would be team that would have a hard time acquiring him.

If only Gary Bettman and the NHL could do something about it. At this point though a lot of teams are struggling to be able to acquire help.
