Senators & Oilers complete trade involving former first-round pick
The Ottawa Senators and Edmonton Oilers have completed a trade involving a former first-round pick.
In a post on social media on Monday, the Edmonton Oilers announced that they've traded 2021 first-round pick Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Roby Jarventie and a 2025 fourth-round pick.

Bourgault, 21, appeared in 55 games for the AHL's Bakersfield Condors last season where he had 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists), 24 penalty minutes and was an even-rating.
Chiasson, 21, spent the majority of his first professional season in the ECHL with the Fort Wayne Comets, registering 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists), 30 penalty minutes and was a minus-12.
Jarventie, a native of Tampere, Finland, made seven appearances in the NHL for the Ottawa Senators, recording his first career point, an assist. He also skated in 22 games for AHL Belleville, putting up 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists).
