Tom Wilson got into a fight with Pierre Crinon in the Canada vs. France game, and now, the latter is being subjected to criminal charges due to an incident back home.

In a new report from Le Dauphiné Libéré, it has been noted that suspended French hockey player Pierre Crinon is facing charges following his fight with Tom Wilson.
These charges stem from an on-ice incident in which Crinon left goaltender Matt O'Connor with a bloody eye following a sucker punch of sorts.

Pierre Crinon faces charges

Crinon could be subjected to a 1,500 euro fine. However, jail time is not in the cards. Instead, this is more of a workplace dispute.
“The newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré announces that the Public Prosecutor of Grenoble has decided to initiate proceedings against Pierre Crinon,” the article says, via Google Translate. “These events relate to the brawl that occurred on November 30th during a league match. A complaint was filed by Angers goalkeeper Matt O’Connor, who had been punched by Pierre Crinon."

Crinon will only have his day in court on May 27th, which means he has to wait a total of three months.
Although the complaint had been dismissed, it was upon seeing Crinon repeat the offense at the 2026 Olympics that the Grenoble prosecutor, according to the Dauphiné Libéré, decided to prosecute him for the offense of intentional violence resulting in an ITT of less than eight days (3 for the goalkeeper of Angers). The hearing is scheduled to take place in Grenoble on May 27th.

This is yet another blow for Crinon, who was essentially banned from the Olympics by his own country.
Clearly, France is taking this stuff very seriously and is looking to eliminate violence from hockey.
This is a story we will be keeping tabs on as the Olympics draw to a close.
