Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand was playing like he was on a mission this weekend. On Saturday night he scored the OT winner to beat the Maple Leafs and on Sunday he scored his sixth career hat trick to beat the Blue Jackets 3-1.

During his post game interview Marchand dropped a hint on another mission he's working on. Trying to lure long-time Bruin Patrice Bergeron out of retirement.

"Maybe I'll keep getting in [Bergeron's] ear about trying to get him to come back,"
Marchand said.

Since Bergeron and Marchand recent meet-up the team has won three straight, outscoring their opponents 10-4 on the run.

Bergeron gave a glowing compliment with how Marchand has led the Bruins this season.

«We're such good friends. We've been connecting a lot, talking a lot, maybe at times bouncing ideas here and there,» Bergeron said. «But to be honest with you, he's done such a tremendous job. He's kind of grabbed the reins and he's never looked back, really. I think he was well prepared for it and has a lot of experience and obviously great leadership.

«I'm just impressed and I'm not surprised. I guess that's how I should say it. Really proud of him.»

For his part Bergeron has not made any statements on a potential return but with Marchand in his ear there might be a glimmer of hope.

The fans were treating to seeing their #37 in Bruins colors as he suited up in the Alumi game over the weekend.

The Bruins Alumni Association has raised more than $10 million for local charities and youth programs over the past 54 years.
