For everything that the National Hockey League can be sometimes, hockey players by nature are some of the most giving people when they want to be. As they should be.
Earlier tonight, before the Columbus Blue Jackets took on the Boston Bruins, Blue Jackets captain
Boone Jenner saw a young fan with a sign and decided to make her day; take a look.
This young Blue Jackets fan went to Boston for open heart surgery.
He'll return home with a Boone Jenner signed stick 🥹
The young fan held up a sign that said he was in Boston for open heart surgery and asked for a signed stick from Jenner, who of course obliged and took the time to sign a stick for the youngster.
Not only will he leave Boston with a life long memory, but it also gives him something to hold onto as he no doubt enters what will be a tough time period in his life.
This is why hockey, despite it's faults on and off the ice, is still a great sport.
