The Boston Bruins are once again defying all critics with their play this season. After both Patrice Bergeron and David Krejčí retired this offseason hockey pundits thought the 2023-24 season would finally be the one that the Bruins begin to falter.

To the dismay of many Boston is off to another rapid start leading the league with a 12-1-2 record. The play of the team's goaltending duo of Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark has been out of this world. Swayman has a 6-0 record with a 1.69 GAA and .944 save percentage. Ullmark has a 6-1 record with a 2.23 GAA and .928 save percentage.

The duo won the William M. Jennings Trophy last season for allowing the fewest goals during the regular season. Boston allowed a league-low 177 goals with duo becoming the first goalie tandem to have one goalie (Ullmark) win 40 games and the other (Swayman) 20 or more.

Boston have won a lot of games the last two seasons, during the celebration it has been a tradition for the backup goalie to greet the starter with a huge hug. It has become a thing around the league watching how close the bond between Ullmark and Swayman has grown.

During a recent interview with B/R Open Ice Swayman and Ullmark revealed the training staff have warned the duo of taking a little steam off their post game hug to avoid any injury.

"To be fair, I've not got a warning yet from the medical staff but Sway has. It happened when I scored."

"There's a sick picture of us jump hugging in Buffalo after back to back shutsies. All of a sudden I came in hot as well. I told you if you do it one more time, I'm coming hot. We got a solid 15 inches."

It is a great time to be a Bruins fan.
