The Boston Bruins traded many key pieces over the deadline, and now, the teams lone remaining star David Pastrnak has reacted to all of the moves, including the trade of longtime teammate Brad Marchand.
After the moves, many believed that the Bruins hopes were dashed in 2024/25, but after a 4-0 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, their playoff hopes are alive and well despite the immense competition in the Eastern Conference.
However, this is a team that's clearly lost plenty of talent, with star forward David Pastrnak being one of the only key pieces remaining on the team, and now, he's addressed the significant changes that he's seen.
"It's been very tough, emotional, sad...you are still a professional hockey player, you have a job to do...we are here to fight to the end. We are not gonna go away. We are gonna keep battling until the last game and see where it takes us."
A clearly emotional Pastrnak confirms that there's still a belief in the locker room, but without longtime teammates Marchand,
Trent Frederic,
Brandon Carlo and
Charlie Coyle, it's looking a whole lot different in Boston.
That makes the next few months even more important in Boston, as the results for the remainder of the year and free agent moves could impact the future of Pastrnak, but for now, it's safe to say that this isn't what he signed up for when he inked a long-term deal with the Bruins.
