Two potential suitors emerge for three-time Stanley Cup champion Phil Kessel
We're nearly one week away from the start of the 2023-24 National Hockey League season and one name that surprisingly still available on the free agent market is Phil Kessel.
The three-time Stanley Cup champion is willing to take on a reduced role, even if it means his ironman streak will come to an end and he won't play every single game.
There are several teams that could use a player like Phil Kessel in their bottom-six forward group and two of those teams that have been brought up recently are the Calgary Flames and the St. Louis Blues.
Both teams could use Kessel in a reduced role to help with secondary scoring that's desperately needed down the stretch and into the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs. After missing out last season, the Flames and Blues are looking to return to the playoffs and with Kessel's experience, as well as his ability to put the puck in the back of the net, he could become an interesting option for those two teams.
Which team do you think would be a better fit for Phil Kessel? Let us know your thoughts in the poll below!
