NHL provides an update on Valeri Nichushkin
When the playoffs started at the beginning of April, the Colorado Avalanche were decimated by injury. After playing just 2 games of the first round, Valeri Nichushkin was out of the lineup too.
Nichushkin was, of course, found with an intoxicated woman in his hotel room the morning of game 3 of the first-round series against the Seattle Kraken.
National Hockey League Deputy Commissioner, Bill Daly commented on the situation according to Elliotte Friedman and there will be no investigation; take a look.
Daly says there is no NHL investigation into the Valeri Nichushkin incident, that it was handled "appropriately" by Colorado and he is eligible to play. Police cam footage was released earlier this week.
There doesn't appear to be any public knowledge of what happened in the situation, all that is known is that the NHL will not be investigating after body cam footage was released last week.
This whole thing seems odd, especially given the how the situation appeared. However the NHL is no stranger to doing investigations and if they feel one isn't warranted, then that's the end of it. One would thing that if the NHL is allowing him to play next season, nothing happened.
Although, it is the NHL and their history isn't exactly the best thing to rely on when it comes to sensitive situations
