Major Update Emerges on Roope Hintz Following Horrific Injury Caused by Darnell Nurse
Stars forward Roope Hintz has given an update on his condition after he was hurt following a brutal slash from Darnell Nurse that kept him from playing in Game 3.
The Dallas Stars were forced to play Game 3 of the WCF without top center Roope Hintz, who was hurt following a brutal slash to the top of his foot from Edmonton Oilers blue liner Darnell Nurse.
Not only were the Stars down a valuable player, but they were also furious at the NHL for declining to dole out any supplemental discipline toward Nurse.
Hintz didn't play in
Game 3's 6-1 loss to the Oilers, but was back on the ice on Monday with the rest of his teammates for practice and indicated that he was hopeful to suit up in Game 4.
Feeling good. I'm trying to do everything that I can that I'm able to play tomorrow. Of course you want to go every night, but sometimes you just can't. So, yeah, I don't know how close I [was].
He briefly made an appearance on the ice during the warmups before Game 3, but soon left the ice and did not play.
Right now, the tentative plan for the Stars and Hintz will once again be for him to take warmups, and a decision will be made on his availability from there.
I have played that many years that I know when it's good and when it's not. I should be good to know that as it comes to that decision.
Hintz has 11 points (5G, 6A) for the Stars so far in the postseason, and has helped them advance to their 3rd consecutive appearance in the Western Conference Final.
