The Edmonton Oilers have two restricted free agents on their roster and according to Kurt Leavins, the team is reportedly close to a deal with both of them, but most importantly Evan Bouchard, who's currently set to have an arbitration hearing on Friday, August 4th.
Bouchard, 23, had another strong season on the Oilers' blueline, recording his second consecutive 40+ point season. Although there was plenty of speculation that Bouchard could have been a target of an offer sheet this summer, it appears that ship has sailed and that the Oilers are in the clear.
The Oakville, Ontario native's health has been huge for the Oilers as he's only missed one game in the last two seasons. In 82 games this past season, Bouchard tallied 40 points (eight goals, 32 assists), 28 penalty minutes and was a plus-six. He followed that up with a fantastic Stanley Cup Playoff run, putting up 17 points in 12 games.
