Multiple altercations occur during fan-watch party in Edmonton
Fans in Edmonton didn't get the memo this week as videos surfaced once again of multiple fights breaking out during the Oilers watch party outside Rogers Arena during their team's game five clincher against the Los Angeles Kings.
These altercations have been happening every single night in Edmonton during the playoffs and are getting out of hand. What is puzzling is how it appears that they occur between fans who are wearing the same colour jerseys, so presumably they are supporting the same team. But as evident below, they are escalating in nature.
Take a look:
Disagreements amongst groups are not unusual in any environment, but one must start to consider how safe it is to go support their favourite team at watch parties that teams have been gracious enough to provide to the people of their community.
As this trend continues, it is likely we will see other videos in the coming days and weeks that show how out of hand things can get through these types of events, but the hope remains that people can set their differences aside to be able to enjoy a night out without fear.
