After weeks of speculation, Brad Marchand was finally traded by the Boston Bruins, and in his first interview with the Florida Panthers, in true Marchand style, he chirped his Team Canada teammate Sam Bennett.
According to Bennett, he began life in the Panthers group chat much of the same way, as the Canadian centre and Marchand's likely teammate revealed how he introduced himself in their team group chat.
To anyone that knows or has watched Marchand, that should come as absolutely no surprise, as he quickly became a fan favourite in Boston and stayed that way for a long, long time due to his immense character both on and off the ice, which has become more prominent on the national stage in recent years.
Bennett didn't go into details into who Marchand chirped, but given the history between these two franchises, particularly in the Stanley Cup Playoffs over the past two years, there's plenty of chances for him to do so.
With Marchand likely to take his place in the playoffs alongside Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk, he's going to quickly become a fan favourite in Florida with the way he carries himself, and if he can produce and help this team to more playoff success, he'll become even more beloved in the locker room.
