The Minnesota Wild are worried enough about one of their top draft picks that the team has brought the young forward to North America so team doctors can check on him.

Liam Ohgren was drafted 19th overall by the Wild in 2022. It was decided that he would remain in Sweden for the 2023-24 season. However, Ohgren hardly played in the preseason and hasn't played in any of the four regular season games for Farjestads so far. Now comes word that he's on his way to the United States.

"He is their player and they want to check on him, really nothing more strange than that," said Mattias Hell who is responsible for Färjestad's medical team.

"They want a 'second opinion', which is not surprising since it is their player."

Oddly, no one is saying what is wrong with Ohgren nor when he might play again. However, the team made it clear it will be a while.

Before being drafted, Ohgren was noted as a fast skater who has no issue making plays on the fly. He was also called very coachable and possible team captain material.
