New Jersey Devils place 34-year-old goaltender on waiver wire
One day after there was no activity on waivers, the New Jersey Devils have placed a goaltender on the wire.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Devils have placed veteran goaltender Keith Kinkaid on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Utica Comets.
"Placed on NHL waivers today: Keith Kinkaid (NJ)." Johnston said.
Kinkaid, 34, has yet to appear in any games for the Devils this season after signing with them during the summer. Last season, the Farmingville, New York native appeared in two NHL games, one with Boston and one with Colorado, while spending the majority of the year in the American Hockey League with Providence and the Colorado Eagles.
If Kinkaid clears waivers on Wednesday afternoon, he'll be assigned to the Utica Comets, where he'll more than likely get into some game action. There's no doubt though that if an injury occurs between the pipes, Kinkaid will be the first man up.
