Once again, Evgeny Kuznetsov is being called out for his shootout moves, with a former NHL referee saying a goaltender 'should charge and rip his head off!' if he tries it again.
Kuznetsov was able to score in the shootout last night, helping his Washington Capitals beat the Calgary Flames 3-2. Kuznetsov used a move he's used almost every time he gets a chance in the shootout, going very slowly towards the net before taking a shot. Former NHL referee Tim Peel doesn't like it.
Personally, I have no idea why so many fans seem to be upset by Kuznetsov's signature shootout move. For one, it works. Secondly, Kuznetsov never stops moving forward, meaning he is 100 percent following the rules. As for the "intention" of the shootout, staying within the rules as they are written, and scoring, should be all that matters.
