The New York Islanders are set to move on from two veteran players as Lou Lamoriello wants to move in a different direction with the team.
There comes a time with any NHL team has to move on from players that have been there for a long time and the New York Islanders are no different. As it is confirmed that general manager, Lou Lamoriello Wants to move on from two players who he has considered the identity of the New York Islanders for sometime.
According to Ethan Sears of the New York post, the Islanders are looking to move on from veteran forwards Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin.
Lamoriello Is famous for always wanting to retain his guys and having a hard time moving on with that being said he has made it clear that unless something changes he does not intend to sign the pair of ageing veterans.

Both Clutterbuck and Martin are unrestricted free agents at this time. They have played for the islanders for over a decade respectively, but as 4th line players, sometimes you have to move on
