The New York Rangers fans have had the misfortune (or fortune), depending on who you ask, as Sean Avery returned to social media to editorialize on the upcoming season. In his latest video, no player was left unscathed, including K'Andre Miller, Mika Zibanejad, and Artemi Panarin. He didn't hold back on his former coach, Mike Sullivan, either.

There's a reason that Sean Avery starred in the TV show "Shoresy" as someone who was known primarily for his "hot-takes. The former enforcer is known for running his mouth and being a tough customer in the NHL.
He was born for that role.
With his career long over, he's taken to the TV Screen, appearing on "Shoresy" with Jared Keeso, he's held jobs as a model, a fashion intern at Vogue, and a restaurateur.
His latest passion is podcasting, as he appeared on the Snark Messier Show and offered his opinion on the Rangers' 2025-26 season. It wasn't pretty.

Sea Avery's Opinion Mike Sullivan is Surprising

Instead of trash-talking Shoresy, this time around, he got to trash his former assistant coach in New York, wishing the team a "good luck". Which had a hint of sarcasm behind it.
Keep in mind, Avery hasn't won a Stanley Cup during his NHL career, but Mike Sullivan has two to his name. Perhaps there's something he learned from John Tortorella that was right.
The usual victims would appear, as former 1st-round pick K'Andre Miller would also be subject to his usual scathing remarks. He was happy that Miller was traded, and wished that Mika Zibanejad, "with the dry hair," would eventually find himself off the team this season, too.
It seems unfair considering how much Zibanejad has given to the team, but he fails to show up in important moments.
Avery's opinions aren't typically for the faint of heart, as Rangers fans who like the flashy guys, like Zibanejad. We're not surprised when we say that, by the way.
Going down the list, we hit Artemi Panarin, who the former enforcer hoped he could rebound after an 89-point year in 2024-25, at 37-52-89. This is something we all hope for.
Last but not least, he geeked out about Adam Fox's build, relaying that the Rangers defenseman looked "yoked" and hoped Sullivan would let the kid play more time on the ice this season.
As an elite defenseman, he just might.
However, the sum of all his opinions resulted in a disheartened tone and a skeptical nature from "Aves".
Is he auditioning to take over for "Grapes" as the most controversial pundit in hockey?
He'd end the short clip with an advertisement for his latest book, "Summer Skate", go figure.
Avery doesn't think Sullivan can be the guy to lead the team out of the dumps. While it's not wrong to be skeptical, Sullivan has more assets in New York than he did Pittsburgh, and with elite goaltending, perhaps he can turn the team around.
