Marc Andre-Fleury's Final Game In The National Hockey League
Marc Andre-Fleury will return to the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, where his career started back in 2003 after the Pens drafted the goaltender with the first overall draft pick of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Something has truly payed off considering everything he helped the organization achieve, such as three Stanley Cup victories, and even a ton of personal records.
However, after being away from the Penguins organization for the last eight seasons, as he joined the Vegas Golden Knights, Chicago Blackhawks, and the Minnesota Wild, where he announced his retirement after the 2024-25 season. Fleury will return for one final game to official retire as a member of the Penguins.
Welcome home, Flower. The black and gold missed you 🖤💛
Following the initial announcement, General Manager Kyle Dubas revealed why the team made this move:
"The entire Penguins organization is honored to welcome Marc-Andre Fleury back to the ice in Pittsburgh. This past year everyone witnessed how beloved and respected Marc is in the game of hockey, but the adoration goes beyond his accolades and career. Marc means so much to our team, our fans and the City of Pittsburgh because of the person he is and the example he set. The Penguins feel he and his family are most-deserving of this opportunity to celebrate this full-circle moment back where it all started in front of the black and gold faithful."
