Defenseman Scott Morrow was included in the K'Andre Miller trade, of which he was happy to be a part of. The trade that sent him to the Carolina Hurricanes. As training camp ramps up in New York Rangers, fans will get to see Morrow take the ice and show them what he's capable of being.

Scott Morrow arrived in New York as a result of the K'Andre Miller trade. This year, he'll be suiting up for the Rangers as training camps take shape.
For Rangers fans, the former 1st-round pick should be an exciting watch in pre-season play. Spending time in New York has allowed the media to pick his brain
The trade shocked him, but as someone who came from New York, the proposition of returning home was an exciting one.
«I would say a surprise,» Morrow said of the trade. «I obviously didn't hear anything about it beforehand, but the first emotion is when you hear the New York Rangers, it's a very special organization.

The defenseman was disappointed as he'd have to leave the team that drafted him. But the prospects of playing on Broadway are appealing.
«I'm from around here, and it would mean a lot to have success here. It was obviously super cool. A little bit of disappointment leaving Carolina because it's such a great organization, but I'm super pumped to be here, and it is definitely more exciting.»

The team would do its best to acquire Morrow in a sign-and-trade, instead of sending an offer sheet to him.
«I mean, it's pretty cool that they traded a really good player and I was a part of the return,» Morrow said. «Obviously, K'Andre was a big part of the team here, so if they value me enough to want me back in a package like that for a player that that good, then you know, it shows that they think somewhat highly me. I just want to prove them right for including me in that. It would be pretty cool for people to look back and think that was a great move.»

The 22-year-old defenseman has played 14 games in the NHL already with the Hurricanes and has experienced five playoff games. Now, as he acclimates to Madison Square Garden, he'll have to find a way to make the Rangers' opening night roster.
The right side of the defense will be tough for Morrow to play his way into, considering he'll be competing with both Will Borgen and Braden Schneider for spots. That is, unless Schneider agrees to play on his offside, which he is capable of
