Matt Rempe of the New York Rangers still doesn't have a full NHL season under his belt. However, in his short time in the league so far, he's endeared himself to Rangers' fans and become well-known across the NHL for his willingness to drop the gloves. Rempe is hoping to take his fighting skills even further next season by training with a legend.
Georges Laraque, who played close to 700 games in the NHL over his career, is noted for being one of the most successful enforcers of his time. Laraque knows how to win a fight, and he's passing on that knowledge to Rempe and one other player in the offseason.
Bauer is a draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets who has spent his pro career with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL so far. He already has a number of fights in his catalogue as well.
Laraque played most of his NHL career with the Edmonton Oilers, but also suited up for the Phoenix Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins, and his hometown Montreal Canadiens before retiring in 2010. Hockeyfights.com lists him as having well over 100 fights during his NHL career. Rempe has a lot of catching up to do, with six fights in his first year in the big league.
