A few weeks ago, Philadelphia Flyers prospect Ivan Fedotov and the KHL were given notice that he would be suspended until January for breach of contract, Fedotov then of course played in CSKA St Petersburg's first regular season game which lead the IIHF to let the league know that they were going impose more sanctions.
Now, according to Hockey News Hub, it sounds like Fedotov just admitted he wouldn't stop playing dispute the IIHF's ruling; take a look.
It'll be Interesting to see how far this actually goes. We know at this point that the KHL has no intention of following the suspension, but for Fedotov himself to come out and say that he won't stop playing, the IIHF will no doubt be forced to respond.
The question is: how far will this situation escalate? No doubt the IIHF will be forced to take matters into their own hands as the governing body, but the blatant disrespect likely means a hearse penalty is about to follow.
