New Footage Shows Michkov Thriving Without Tortorella, Pulling Off Filthy Shootout Move

Thursday saw the Philadelphia Flyers move on from John Tortorella as Head Coach, which Danny Briere addressed hours later, noting that it was plenty of smaller issues that led to the team finally moving on from the veteran.

While this should help the team as a whole, it's young players like Cam York, Owen Tippett and Matvei Michkov that will benefit the most, with the team hoping to now get the best out of their young core.

The latter has been the focus of so much speculation this season, as he has been scratched several times this season, with Tortorella calling him out for his excessive shows of skill on the ice, especially at practice.

Now, since the veteran coach has been moved on, Michkov is back to showing off his incredible skill, with a video emerging of his amazing shootout attempt at practice that has fans in awe.

While Tortorella likely didn't tell him to stop using his skill, he was very vocal about his hatred of the Michigan, a move that Michkov tried to use many times, and it's no coincidence that this video emerged just 24 hours after Tortorella was moved on.

Whether or not this translates to success on the ice at the top level, only time will tell, but it's been clear for some time that Tortorella's coaching has led to some tension with their young players, and if the Flyers can find the right linemates for the 19-year old, it's safe to say that they may have an absolute superstar on their hands.
