The Toronto Maple Leafs and President of Hockey Operations, Brendan Shanahan announced on Friday that they'd officially relieved Kyle Dubas of his duties as General Manager. Shanahan made it clear that he understood the importance of this offseason and promised to move quickly to try and have another GM in place.
Now it appears that even before completing a single interview, the Toronto Maple Leafs have already come to a decision on who they'd like to be their next General Manager. According to Andy Strickland, NHL Insider, it appears the Maple Leafs have their sights set on one man.
Treliving is expected to be in Toronto this week to meet with Shanahan and the MLSE board. Is Treliving the right person for the job in Toronto? Well, he checks a lot of Shanahan's boxes. He's experienced, he has some bite to him and he isn't afraid of making a bold move.
