With the Toronto Maple Leafs looking to sell off some assets going forward, it has been reported that two players, in particular, are going on the trade block.

If you have been paying attention to the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, you know that they are in desperate need of a change.
Overall, the Maple Leafs could be a good team, but they have some glaring holes in the lineup and are likely to be sellers at the deadline.
With that in mind, there has been speculation about which players, in particular, are going to be traded by general manager Brad Treliving.

More Toronto Maple Leafs forwards on the block

A new piece from The Fourth Period suggests that two forwards are on the trading block right about now.
One of those players is Matias Maccelli, who has not been what the Maple Leafs wanted.
The Maccelli experiment hasn’t fully worked in Toronto; not yet, anyway.

His production isn’t what the Leafs had hoped in the first half of the season and the team is willing to swap him out if they can bring someone in to fill a top-six role.

Meanwhile, the other player on the list is none other than Max Domi, who has also underperformed and underachieved with the Leafs.
Domi has two more years left on his contract after this season and owns a 13-team no-trade list.

The Maple Leafs have been dangling him, mainly because they’re up against the cap and may need to move money out if they want to bring any money in.

At the end of the day, this is going to be fascinating to watch, with some within the organization claiming that the Leafs are still contenders.
Eventually, the dam is going to break, and the Leafs are going to have to figure out that this season is lost.
