Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll has struggled as of late, and Nick Kypreos believes a move could be on the horizon for him.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in a very desperate situation right now, and it feels like this team is in a ton of trouble that will be near impossible to get out of.
With that being said, there are a lot of wild takes going around right now, especially as it pertains to the Maple Leafs' season, and what the team should be doing to improve the roster.
Perhaps the guiltiest party in all of this is none other than controversial insider Nick Kypreos, who has always had some odd takes about the Leafs.
In fact, his latest gem is going to make some eye rolls, especially when you consider just how brazen a suggestion it is.
Joseph Woll for Jordan Binnington?
In a new report, the insider claims the Toronto Maple Leafs shoud think about trading Joseph Woll for Jordan Binnington.
It's hard to say what the logic is here. Sure, Binnington has won a Stanley Cup and is a big-game goalie. However, this season, he has been abysmal.
Woll has a goals-against average of 3.01 and a save percentage of .908. Meanwhile, Binnington's GAA sits at 3.59, while his save percentage is .867.
Overall, these are bad numbers, and the Maple Leafs would be making a monumental mistake by giving Binnington the keys to the crease.
Sure, the Blues would do this trade in a heartbeat, but we doubt the Leafs would ever want to make this kind of swap.
With the trade deadline on the horizon, we expect these hot takes to get even worse, much to our chagrin.
