Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz has been mentioned in trade discussions, and now, he is part of the Dougie Hamilton discourse.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made it clear that New Jersey Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton is someone that they would love to add to the roster.
Overall, he is a phenomenal defenseman and someone who could really help out this Maple Leafs team going down the stretch.
Having said that, it is going to cost the Maple Leafs a pretty penny in terms of assets. They certainly aren't going to get the defenseman for free.
At the end of the day, the Devils are going to want a lot in return, and the entire Hamilton sweepstakes is going to be truly fascinating going forward.
Anthony Stolarz named in blockbuster trade proposal
In fact, a new trade proposal has surfaced online courtesy of NHL Trade Rumors. This proposal would see Anthony Stolarz go to the Devils alongside some minor assets.

The Devils could be looking to get rid of Jake Allen. Furthermore, flipping Stolarz for Hamilton would allow the Maple Leafs to afford him, especially if there is salary retained.
Over the coming weeks, we will likely see more movement around Hamitlon, although there is no guarantee the Leafs will get him.
While the Leafs would certainly love to be the team to get him, that doesn't exactly mean they will be. Wants and needs are two different things.
Either way, this is a situation that he will continue to monitor going forward.
