Anthony Stolarz Opens Up About Sam Bennett's Horrific Elbow to the Head for the First Time
Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett pretty well ended the Toronto Maple Leafs' season in the playoffs when he took off Anthony Stolarz's head with an elbow.
Anthony Stolarz was having a historic playoff with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season until it all came crashing down at the elbow of Sam Bennett.
The Leafs' goalie went down with a concussion and was unable to return to the ice. He was a backup in Game 7, but by then, it was too little too late.
Subsequently, the Maple Leafs lost to the Florida Panthers, and the Panthers went on to win their second-straight Stanley Cup.
Anthony Stolarz on Sam Bennett
Throughout the summer, Stolarz has been hard at work so he can get back to the goalie he was prior to the injury.
He is now gearing up for a season for the ages, and it appears as though he is ready to speak about everything he went through.
In an interview with The Leafs Nation, Stolarz opened up about getting elbowed by Bennett and how he is back to 100 percent.
Just an unfortunate incident there. I got hit in the head, and probably about 5-10 minutes after, I started feeling a little woozy and dizzy. I thought it was best for myself and the team to take the right precautions to make sure everything was alright. Things took a little while to get back, but right before Game 6 and Game 7, I started feeling like myself again.
I backed up in Game 7, and now everything's good. I was able to train, able to skate, and I was on the ice probably 15-20 times this summer with my goalie coach. I've had no symptoms, everything was good, and I was able to go full throttle this summer.

This revelation should absolutely scare the rest of the NHL. It just goes to show that Stolarz is ready for the big time.
He wants to carry this Leafs team to a Stanley Cup, and based on his play last season, he could absolutely make it happen.
Only time will tell whether the rest of his teammates are up for the challenge.
