Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has made a massive decision involving Easton Cowan that may or may not be unpopular with the fans.
Easton Cowan was an exciting rookie at the start of the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs, although lately, the novelty has worn off.
For the most part, Cowan has stopped producing. With just 17 points in 43 games, it is clear that the talent isn't translating to goals and assists.
Not to mention, he has made some big-time defensive errors, and his turnovers have lost games on more than one occasion.
The Leafs need to start winning games, and with that in mind, it should come as no surprise that Craig Berube would punish Easton Cowan.

Based on tonight's lineup, it has been made crystal clear that Cowan's mediocrity won't stand. It appears as though he is a healthy scratch alongside Jacob Quillan.
The first line consists of Auston Matthews, Bobby McMann, and Max Domi. Meanwhile, Matias Maccelli, John Tavares, and William Nylander are on the second line.
Matthew Knies has been demoted to the third line with Nicolas Roy and Nick Robertson. Lastly, Steven Lorentz, Scott Laughton, and Calle Jarnkrok take point on the fourth line.

Whether or not Cowan's absence is noticeable tonight is something that still very much remains to be seen right now.
Having said that, we are excited to watch this game play out. If you are a fan, you will definitely be going into this one with some nervous energy.
