Easton Cowan is the best prospect on the Toronto Maple Leafs, and there is no denying that fans are eager to see if he can make it in the NHL.
Overall, it is not easy to crack an NHL roster, especially one as deep as the Leafs. Their first two lines are pretty well set, while the bottom six is full of depth.
Having said that, training camp has officially begun, and it appears as though Cowan is already getting a massive look thanks to an injury to Max Domi.
Easton Cowan takes spot on Toronto Maple Leafs third line
On Thursday, Bobby McMann found himself on the second line with John Tavares and William Nylander. Typically, this spot would be for Domi.
Moreover, McMann usually finds himself on the third line. But with McMann replacing Domi, Cowan was given reps with Nicolas Roy and Dakota Joshua.
This ultimately allows Cowan to have some NHL-caliber linemates that he can grow with, while also showcasing what his true potential is.
